COVID-19 Policy at Bodhi Farms

"We are intimately interconnected with nature, whether we like it or not.  If we don't take care of nature, we can't take care of ourselves.  And as we hurtle towards a population of 10 billion people on this planet, we need to go into this future armed with nature as our strongest ally. "

― Inger Andersen, the UN's Environmental Chief on the coronavirus pandemic

Dear Bodhi Farms Community,

The invisible but real threat posed by COVID-19 (coronavirus) is unnerving, especially when it forces us to restrict our in-person interactions. It is now that we need each other more than ever and we all need to coordinate our efforts – both individuals and businesses alike – into cohesive, effective, and compassionate action.

We have outlined our policies below, which will be updated frequently as we know more in regards to the phased reopening and safety precautions.  We ask that you attempt to minimize in person transactions as much as possible by making your reservations on our website prior to visiting us and paying with credit cards vs. cash.  Please stay home if you are feeling ill; our staff will do the same.

Regardless of this damn coronavirus, at Bodhi Farms, we promise to provide our community with a safe outdoor environment until this strange time is behind us. Together we will get through this together and continue to make the world a better place to live.

With hope from 6 feet away,

Rayner & Tanya

Nordic Playground

  • Overview. Our "Nordic Playground'  consists of three different activities that are available to our guests; cross country skiing, ice skating and seasonal sleigh rides. Each of these three activities come with their own set of Covid guidelines that we post on property.  In addition we have three 'Field Boxes' on property that contain hand sanitizer as well as tissue and a first aid kit.

  • Covid Policy - Cross Country Skiing. For our guests that enjoy our 2km cross country trail, we ask that all skiers maintain a 6 foot distance from each other at all times; unless you are skiing with your pod or family.  Being an outdoor activity, we feel this simple measure is sufficient to provide a safe environment.

  • Covid Policy - Ice Skating. We have a maximum capacity on the ice rink of 22 people at a time so that crowding is not an issue. We also require that all participants wear a mask.  We have hand sanitizer in the amenity box by the rink.

  • Covid Policy - Sauna.  A sauna reservation books the entire sauna for 1.5 hours and will be cleaned between sessions. The heated sauna sits 8 people at a time & is heated between 165°F - 200°F; masks are required in the changing room & Welcome Shack.

  • Covid Policy - Sleigh Rides. For our guests that are taking sleigh rides on our property, we only allow one group to book a sleigh at a time so that a family or pod of up to 12 people can enjoy this activity with a group they are comfortable with; if you are coming outside of your household or pod, masks are required.

  • Staffing. We will take our staff's temperature daily & require they stay home if they are feeling ill or have any symptoms.

  • Cleaning. Our staff will disinfect the portable restrooms, surfaces, and high touch points throughout the day.  Our service staff will always be wearing face masks for your safety as well as adhere to a strict hand sanitizing policy and/or wearing disposable gloves.

The Welcome Shack, Sanctuary & Sauna

  • Overview. The Sanctuary is made up of two primary amenities; our Welcome Shack and our Yoga Shala Tipi.

  • Covid Policy - Welcome Shack. To adhere to the current health guidelines, our Welcome Shack only allows two guests at a time at our front desk. Likewise only family groups or pods may occupy the lounge within the welcome shack at a time.

  • Covid Policy - Sauna.  Masks will be required when in the changing room area, but not in the heated sauna room.  Reservations book the entire sauna so you can bring your family or pod - 8 people max in the sauna at one time.  Yoga Shala (closed for winter). To adhere to the current health guidelines, our current classes in our Yoga Shala will be limited to 9 guests plus one instructor as this is an outdoor yoga venue (when weather permits the sides of the tipi to be open, we can safely accommodate more).   During this time, we ask that our instructors and students bring their own yoga mats, props and water bottles.  Event guests in the Sanctuary Park will be required to maintain a 6 foot distance from others, which is the same length as a yoga mat!

  • Cleaning & Staffing. We will take our staff temperature daily as well as require they stay home if they are feeling ill or have any symptoms.  Our staff will disinfect the portable restrooms throughout the day & there is hand sanitizer at the Yoga Shala, the Welcome Shack, and the portable restroom.  Our staff will also clean the sauna between reservations.  We also ask that you attempt to minimize in person transactions as much as possible by making your reservations on our website prior to visiting us and paying with credit cards vs. cash.

The Backyard

  • Overview. The Backyard is our indoor-outdoor event venue and bar. It consists of a small indoor bar with a garage door along with 3,000 square feet of open air tipis and an open field with picnic tables, benches & a ceremony site during the summer months.

  • Covid Policy. For private and community events, we encourage our guests to maintain a 6 foot distance from each other at all times.  Only two customers at a time will be allowed to enter into indoor bar to order food and beverages, customer lines will have six foot distance reminders.  Plexiglass guards will be used at each customer ordering and pick up station. Signage will be posted on the doors and on the bar requiring all customers to wear masks.  Guest tables will have 6 chairs per station with minimum 6 feet between stations. Metal tent signage will be used to identify cleaned/available seating and not cleaned yet/unavailable seating. If a party of less that 6 sits at a station the table will not be available to other unrelated guests to share the station.

  • Cleaning & Staffing.   On arrival to work all staff will have their temperature taken and will complete and initial a short COVID exposure and health questionnaire. Our staff will disinfect the restrooms, surfaces, and high touch points before, throughout & after dining events.  Our service staff will always be wearing face masks for your safety as well as adhere to a strict hand washing policy and/or wearing disposable gloves. Bleach cleaner and disinfectant will be used to clean surfaces and equipment after every customer transaction at the POS station, bar area and at guest tables.

You will need gloves on hands to open gates, using the watering hoses, etc.

Kids Camp

Maintaining a safe environment.

  • Overview. This camp will accommodate 12 kids per pod and we will aim to gather 6 feet apart as much as possible between campers and instructors. (Though they're kids, so we can't be successful 100% of the time.  Virtually all activities will be held outdoors, or in our open-air tipis, with social-distancing enforced at all times.

  • Covid Policy. We will follow the current Health Department guidelines, as we all know they change frequently.  We will be screening the campers when they arrive, which may involve taking their temperatures. Campers with any symptoms of COVID, or who have family members with symptoms of COVID, will be strongly encouraged to get a COVID test, and must stay home until they have the results and the symptoms are gone. Campers will also be asked to either sanitize or wash their hands upon arrival.  Campers will be encouraged, and given ample opportunity, to wash their hands regularly, including after they sneeze. We have three restrooms where kids can wash hands as well as hand sanitizer throughout the farm.  Please pack your child with a mask.  Since we're already outdoors and social-distanced at camp, campers won't be wearing masks the vast majority of the day. Campers will only need to be wearing masks when they’re within the 6 feet of someone else (an instructor who is helping them for example).

  • Cleaning & Staffing. We will take our staff temperature daily as well as require they stay home if they are feeling ill or have any symptoms. Any shared surfaces (including restrooms) will be disinfected regularly throughout the day.
